Delete it yourself, in the app

Everything Markdown Reader & Editor holds about you sits either on your own device or in your own Google Drive. You can remove all of it without asking us, and without waiting.

Delete your notes and files

  1. Open the app.
  2. Delete the documents or projects you want gone. They move to Trash.
  3. Go to Settings ▸ Trash and tap Empty to remove them permanently, straight away.
If you skip step 3

Items left in Trash are erased automatically 30 days after you delete them. Emptying Trash yourself removes them immediately instead.

Delete your Google Drive backups

  1. Go to Settings ▸ Sync & backup.
  2. Tap Disconnect. Automatic backup stops and the device no longer syncs with Drive.
  3. To remove the stored snapshots as well, revoke the app at myaccount.google.com/permissions — that deletes the hidden app folder the app wrote to.

Remove everything at once

  1. Uninstall the app. Android deletes its private storage with it: every note, every setting, and the record of which Pro tier you hold.
  2. Then follow the Drive step above if you had ever turned backup on — Drive snapshots live in your Google account, not on the device, so uninstalling alone does not touch them.
02

Ask us to delete it

If you would rather we did it, or you believe we hold something the steps above do not cover, write to us:

Put "Data deletion request" in the subject line. We reply within 30 days.

Please be aware of what we can and cannot do. We run no server and hold no account for you, so in almost every case there is nothing on our side to delete — the data is on your device or in your Drive, where only you can reach it. What we can do is confirm that, and delete anything we do turn out to hold.

What is deleted, what is kept

Data Where it is How to delete it Retention
Notes, projects, folders Your device, in the app's private storage Delete in the app, then empty Trash; or uninstall Deleted at once. Items left in Trash go after 30 days
Reading position, bookmarks, app settings Your device, in the app's private storage Uninstall the app Deleted at once
Backup snapshots Your own Google Drive, in a hidden app-only folder (drive.appdata) Disconnect in the app, then revoke access in your Google Account Deleted at once. The app keeps only your five most recent snapshots in any case
Which Pro tier you hold Your device, in the app's private storage Uninstall the app Deleted at once. The purchase itself stays on your Google Play account so you can restore it — that record belongs to Google Play, not to us
Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics) Google servers, tied to a random installation identifier Uninstalling stops all further reports Kept for Firebase's standard retention period, then expires automatically. Never linked to your identity or to the content of your notes
Anonymous usage statistics (Firebase Analytics) Google servers, tied to a random installation identifier Uninstalling stops all further collection Kept for Firebase's standard retention period, then expires automatically. Never includes note content
Advertising identifier (Google AdMob) Your device, managed by Android — not by this app Android Settings ▸ Google ▸ Ads, where you can delete or reset it Controlled by you in Android, at any time. Buying Pro removes all advertising

The full description of why each of these exists is in our Privacy Policy.

04

There is no account to delete

no sign-up, no profile

The app has no registration, no login and no user profile. We never ask for your name, your email address or your phone number, and we operate no server that stores your documents. That is why the steps above are things you do yourself rather than a form you submit to us.

Connecting Google Drive does not create an account with us either — it authorises the app to write into a hidden folder in your Drive, and you can withdraw that authorisation at any time.
